ELF Beauty Book

As I was shopping in Target one day I decided to go by the beauty department to see what  products might catch my eye.  I came across this little book and picked it up.  It's actually very cute.  I like the idea of makeup being in a book not to mention the cost was only $5.00.  I'm a fan of ELF products anyway so I had nothing to lose.

I REALLY like this book.  The fact that you get 12 eye shadow colors, an eyeliner, and a a mirror in this cute little compact book is tooooo coool!!  I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about the shadows appearing cheap or not having very much pigment due to the price but that wasn't the case at all!  Each color is highly pigmented and is true to color.  The black has a hint of glitter in it that you can actually see on your eye after application.  I checked online at ELF and found out that they have 8 different books including those for lips and face.  I would definitely recommend this product to those who are watching their pennies this winter and preparing for the holidays.  Even if you're not pinching pennies, this would be a great buy to have in your collection for travel purposes and convenience of not having to bother with carrying several different eye shadows with you on the go.

This is the look I created using this palette

Bridal Beauty starts with Healthy Skin

Every bride wants and needs to feel gorgeous on their wedding day. There is not one bride that I do a makeup consultation for that says "I don't want to look great on my wedding day". What I do realize is that many of my brides don't have a good skincare regimen that they use on a daily basis to create a foundation for wedding day beauty. Flawless makeup starts with flawless skin.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of going to "Origins" to take a look at their skincare products. I had seen the products before in the mall passing by and had heard about them through a friend. It wasn't until I went into the store one day where I got a closer look at this highly recommended line.

As I walked in, I was greeted by a young lady that worked there. I told her why I was there and she began to ask me about my skincare concerns/problems. She then began to pull product from the shelves to show me different options. At first I thought that it was just another product line that I was going to use for a week or so and toss to the side like the rest because I needed that "wow" factor....boy was I wrong. She sat me down in their reclining chair and began to give me a facial. I have to admit that I was a bit nervous but she was gentle and very knowledgeable about the products. By the time she finished I had spent $65.00 in the store in less that 45 minutes! I still love the products and my skin feels and looks fabulous! So a special shout out goes to "Jay" and her team of "Origin" experts at the Annapolis Town Center location.

Lashes 101

Lashes 101
Most women want to wear lashes but have no idea of which one to choose.  Here are a few lashes that I love to work with on a regular basis.

I use the #747 XS lashes for my brides or clients that want a little drama with their makeup but are not regular eyelash clients.  They're small and light-weight yet only extend past natural lashes about 1/4".

I use #747S lashes for clients that want a hint of drama to the eye and are more familiar with lashes.  This style (believe it or not) looks fabulous on brides because it's not an over powering lash.  It adds more length but not as noticeable.

I absolutely love this lash style.  It not only gives you drama but it gives length.  I use #600 lashes in a lot of my photo shoots and fashion shows.  I've worn them myself to events but I would not recommend this lash for a wedding.  It will over power the look of the eye.

I use #47 lashes for the ultimate drama and drag!  If you're going to wear this lash you better be ready for the drama.  As you can see, the base is pretty thick which means the lash will be heavier.  If you are not use to lashes then you will not want to try this lash just because it will take you from 0-10 instantly.

I use #602 lashes for bottom lashes.  As you can see that the placement of the lash goes down and not up.  This means that they are for the bottom lash line.  This lash will add just a hint of drama to your bottom lashes and paired with top lashes they can create a "fierce" look.  I may use them on a bride depending on the situation (new years eve or holiday wedding or a themed wedding).

Stay tuned for Lashes 102

Why you should try Airbrush Makeup

Why should you choose airbrush makeup versus traditional?

What is Airbrush Makeup?
Airbrush makeup is makeup that is specially formulated to be applied to the face using an airbrush system or with the proper mixing cream. You can apply foundation, blush, eye shadow, and mascara using the system. It providesthe face with flawless beauty. We all feel better when we know we look good. Airbrush makeup will make you look and feel great.

How does Airbrush Makeup work?
Just a couple of drops of liquid makeup is placed in an airbrush gun that is attached to a air compressor. The makeup is then gently sprayed over the skin, using a tiny mist. This mist covers the skin lightly and allows the skin to breath. It will leave your skin light without the "cake" feeling. The liquid mists lay on the surface of your skin creating a smooth, flawless finish that won't block your pores or irritate your face. Once the liquid is applied, it begins to dry and stay on the skin's surface. Once it dries, it is moisture and smudge resistant.

How long will Airbrush Makeup last?
Airbrush makeup applications cover and last all day long. One application is all it takes to have a beautiful face for weddings, proms, and other occasions. Airbrush makeup is waterproof and will not smudge with light touching. Some liquids appear "dewy" on the skin and other liquids appear "matte" on the skin and can last up to 16 hours on the skin depending on what product is used. It can be applied on anyone even men. Its hypoallergenic and very sanitary because there are no makeup brushes involved.

Are there other uses for Airbrush Makeup?
Airbrush makeup can be used on the whole body. It can cover skin imperfections, scars, and even tattoos and stretch marks. Most products don't contain oil or alcohol so it's safe for any skin type.
